GuitarPush Private Mentorship

Become the guitarist you've always wanted to be.

GuitarPush Private Mentorship is for guitarists who are serious about making significant progress and want me working with them every week to make it happen.

You'll have me in your corner throughout the year with a completely personalised programme, helping you develop your playing, train your ears, learn songs, overcome whatever is holding you back, and become a more independent guitarist.

£4,800 / year

£400/month option

One year. One guitarist.

One personalised plan.

40 minutes with me every week.

We'll work on the skills you actually need, use songs as our training ground, develop your ears, and build you towards becoming a guitarist who can figure things out for themselves.

£4,800/year • Limited places • Application required

Hear It. Find It. Play It.

The ability to hear something and work it out yourself is one of the most powerful skills you can develop as a guitarist.

You don't have to have perfect pitch.

You can train your ears.

Throughout our time together, we'll work on your ability to:

  • Hear melodies and find them on guitar

  • Recognise intervals

  • Distinguish major and minor

  • Hear chord qualities

  • Recognise chord progressions

  • Work out riffs

  • Transcribe music

  • Learn songs without relying entirely on TAB

  • Understand what you're hearing

  • Apply what you hear directly to the guitar

And we'll do it using real music, rather than abstract exercises alone.

Your Guitar. Your Goals. Your Programme.

There is no generic 12-month course waiting for you.

I build the programme around you.

At the beginning, we'll look at:

  • Your current playing

  • Your musical knowledge

  • Your ear

  • Your technique

  • Your strengths

  • Your weaknesses

  • Your musical interests

  • Your goals

  • How much time you can realistically practice

Then we'll work out where we're going.

Your programme changes as you change.

A Personal Session Every Week

Every week we'll spend 40 minutes together, one-to-one.

That's up to 52 personal coaching sessions throughout the year.

A typical session might involve:

Review

What have you worked on?

Listen

Let me hear what you've been doing.

Diagnose

What's holding you back?

Develop

We'll work on the thing that will make the biggest difference.

Challenge

I'll give you something specific to work towards.

Plan

You'll know exactly what you're doing before our next session.

Short, focused and purposeful.

You won't spend an hour wondering what we're going to do.

Your Personal Guitar Curriculum

Rather than working through a generic syllabus, we'll build your own.

Maybe you need to work on:

🎧 Ear training
🎸 Technique
🎵 Rhythm
🎼 Theory
🎶 Improvisation
🧠 Fretboard knowledge
✍️ Transcription
🎤 Playing songs
🎹 Harmony
🎼 Songwriting

We'll identify what you need and build it into your programme.

Songs Become Your Training Ground

I don't want you learning songs simply to tick them off a list.

I'll help you choose songs that develop the skills you're currently working on.

For example:

"We're learning this song because I want you to hear chord movement."

Or:

"This one is going to develop your fingerstyle."

Or:

"Don't look up the chords. Let's see if you can figure this one out yourself."

Your song choices become part of your education.

The Ear Training Challenge

One of the things we'll continually work towards is this:

Give me a song I've never played before and let me figure it out.

We'll gradually build that ability.

At first, perhaps you're finding a simple melody.

Then you're identifying the key.

Then you're hearing chord quality.

Then you're figuring out progressions.

Then you're transcribing riffs.

Eventually:

You hear it → understand it → find it → play it.

That's the goal.

Feedback Between Sessions

Sometimes the thing you're working on won't wait until next week's session.

You can send me a short video or recording of your playing when you need feedback.

I'll tell you:

  • What's working

  • What's going wrong

  • What to change

  • What to practice

So you're not spending a whole week practicing something incorrectly.

Direct Access to Me

You'll have private messaging support throughout the programme.

Questions about:

  • Practice

  • Songs

  • Theory

  • Technique

  • Ear training

  • What to learn next

  • Something you've heard

  • Something you're struggling with

You can ask.

I'll set clear response expectations so that you have support without needing to wait for our next session.

The Entire GuitarPush Library

As a Private Mentorship member, you get access to the GuitarPush learning library.

That includes:

  • All GuitarPush courses

  • Artist Series

  • How to Strum

  • Ear-training resources

  • Practice resources

  • TAB and lesson resources where available

  • New GuitarPush courses released during your membership

You don't have to buy individual GuitarPush courses as you progress.

They're all part of your programme.

Monthly GuitarPush Masterclasses

Each month I'll also release a focused masterclass.

Topics could include:

  • Playing by ear

  • Fretboard mastery

  • Rhythm

  • Improvisation

  • Music theory

  • Songwriting

  • Technique

  • Practice

  • Harmony

  • Learning songs

These complement the work we're doing together.

We're Going Somewhere

This isn't 52 disconnected guitar lessons.

At the beginning of the year, we'll establish where you want to go.

Throughout the year we'll continually ask:

Are we getting there?

We'll track your progress, identify what's holding you back and change the plan when necessary.

The aim is that after 12 months, you're not simply able to play more songs.

You're a more capable, confident and independent musician.

Who Is This For?

Private Mentorship is for you if:

  • You've been playing guitar for a while

  • You're serious about improving

  • You want to make significant progress over the next year

  • You want personalised guidance rather than another generic course

  • You want to learn to play more by ear

  • You want to understand music rather than simply memorise shapes

  • You want someone who will hold you accountable

  • You're prepared to put the work in between sessions

  • You want direct access to an experienced guitar teacher

It's probably NOT for you if:

  • You're looking for occasional casual guitar lessons

  • You don't have time to practice

  • You want someone else to do the work for you

  • You're simply looking for cheap guitar tuition

This is a serious commitment from both of us.
